Goldfield Entertainment has begun filming the romantic comedy «Perfectly Mismatched».
The film stars Katerina Shpitsa and Vladimir Baigildin. The film also stars Anfisa Chekhova and Alexander Zlatopolsky, who, as in real life, will play the loving couple, as well as Irina Pegova as Vika, the heroines' friend.
The story takes place in modern-day Moscow. Sofia (Katerina Shpitsa), after her divorce, ironically categorizes men and doesn't expect miracles from dating. Max (Vladimir Baigildin) is a bachelor and womanizer who has devised his own «categorization system» for women. His friend Artem (Alexander Zlatopolsky) is a shy romantic, to whom Max tries to explain the «rules of the game.» But it is Artem's meeting with Alisa (Anfisa Chekhova) that sets off a chain of events in which schemes crumble and feelings prevail. Vika (Irina Pegova), a friend who can both support and add fuel to the fire, is always by the heroines' side. Her directness and unexpected remarks become part of a larger conversation about love and stereotypes.
The film explores the nature of modern relationships: in an era of labels and quick judgments, the characters learn to see the real people behind their masks and open up to love.
Katerina Shpitsa, actress:
«I love that this story has both irony and relatability. Anyone who's ever been on a date will find something here for themselves—funny, awkward, or touching.»
Alexander Zlatopolsky, producer and actor:
«'Perfectly Mismatched' isn't just a romantic comedy. We want to show modern love as it is: with stereotypes, mistakes, but also with the hope of true intimacy.»
Anfisa Chekhova, actress:
«My character, Alisa, is a woman who knows her worth and knows how to smile at the world. I think many viewers will be pleased to see a character they recognize themselves in on screen.»
Irina Pegova, actress:
«Vika is a friend who always has her own opinion and her own secret scores to settle. She sometimes jokes, sometimes pushes the characters to unexpected actions, and at some point, it's her remarks that change the course of events. I like that in this story, the friends also play a role in the big conversation about love.»
Vladimir Baigildin, producer and actor:
«We're making a lighthearted film about serious things. I'm sure viewers will laugh, empathize, and leave the theater believing that love always wins.»
