Successful divorce lawyer Yegor Sokolov, accustomed to shining both in court and in love, gets into trouble because of his romantic adventures. Fleeing the angry husbands of his clients, he decides to pose as a family psychologist. In this role, Yegor finds himself in the home of brutal businessman Fyodor Kormiltsev and his wife Angela, where he is forced to pretend to be a specialist in improving family relationships. However, his plans are thwarted by Fyodor's suspicious and persistent mother, Roza Nilovna, who is ready to expose the deception at any cost, even if it destroys the family.
